DirectDeliveryService

The ESJOT EXPRESS-DirectDeliveryService (DDS) is an innovative transport service that we have developed for truck transports between Norway, Sweden and Germany since 1994. Until early 2000, we offered this service mainly from Northern Germany to certain regions in Scandinavia. Now, we apply the DDS system for transports from Norway and Sweden to Northern Germany also. Special features are, among others:

• Groupage cargo of more than 1,000 kg is delivered directly from the shipper to the final consignee without re-loading.

The share of groupage cargo and part loads, which are carried to Sweden and Norway by ESJOT EXPRESS-DirectDeliveryService, has increased considerably during the recent years.

• High capacity utilisation of the vehicles employed ensure the advantages of special transports at freight rates, that regularly correspond with standard prices of competitors – especially to destinations outside the traditional industrial centres such as Oslo, Gothenburg, Malmö/Helsingborg and Stockholm.
• Throughout the entire transport route, we exclusively operate with self-driving hauliers. ESJOT EXPRESS does not make use of solo trailers in the DDS-system traffic (to avoid risks due to the use of different sub-hauliers in Germany and Sweden/Norway, who pick up and deliver the cargo respectively; to exclude risks in the ferry ports, when trailers will not be shipped).
• The very same driver, who takes over the goods at the shipper’s company, will deliver the cargo with the very same truck at the final consignee’s destination in Norway or Sweden.
• DDS saves time.
• Goods are guarded throughout the journey.
• Transport risks such as cargo damage or delayed delivery are practically out of question.
• Only drivers participate in DDS system traffics, who have longstanding professional experiences and who have distinguished themselves by their personal trustworthiness.
• All trucks are equipped with mobile phones; the drivers can be reached at any time.
• The client may obtain information on the exact status of transportation, whenever he or she feels it necessary or desirable.
• In special instances, we take over parcels and small consignments of less than 1,000 kg within DDS system traffics.

After the introduction os the ESJOT EXPRESS-DirectDeliveryService, far more cosignments were directly delivered to locations outside the traditional industrial centres such as Oslo, Gothenburg, Malmö/Helsingborg or Stockholm.
